Through the Thai Trade Association of Cacao & Chocolate (TACCO), I met Pen, founder of Pen Thai Cacao and spent several days in Phatthalung, working directly with her network of farmers.
We mapped farms for EUDR compliance, collected field data and aligned on post-harvest practices — building the foundation for a structured and traceable lot.
Along the way, I reconnected with familiar faces in the Thai cocoa community, reinforcing a network that is both local and deeply committed.
This first export is also a logistical challenge. In a complex global context, moving cocoa from Southern Thailand to Europe is far from straightforward.
Yet this lot is on its way — and will soon be distributed by Silva Cacao.
First ECOSHIFT export - March 2026
A first shipment built directly with smallholder farmers in Southern Thailand, connecting origin to European chocolate makers through a fully traceable supply chain.
